The Ericsson RX8300 series is a range of professional receivers that are optimized for specific functional applications.  RX8300 variants provide an RF demodulator combined with industry standard ASI transport stream input.  Transport stream output on ASI, with an option for transport stream over IP output, is provided for distribution to digital networks.  The video decode capability of each variant is tailored to the requirements of that receivers particular target application.

The RX8300 range of Integrated Receiver Decoders (IRDs) are the perfect receive devices for distribution of video services throughout large networks.  The units provide the most up-to-date feature-set, combining maximum transmission efficiency with easy remote management of the receiver population.

Each receiver can, if desired, be controlled through Ericsson’s nCompass Director distribution control system, using over-air remote control.  This provides centralized control, management and secure CA, reducing network complexity and management costs.

 

RX8320 ATSC Broadcast Receiver

The Ericsson RX8320 ATSC Broadcast Receiver is specifically designed to address the needs of local terrestrial broadcasters as they phase out their analog transmissions.  Specially equipped with an 8VSB terrestrial input, the RX8320 allows the operator to ingest these transmissions as a transport stream on ASI or optionally as IP.  Additionally, the RX8320 has the capability to decode an ATSC service and output it onto an analog network.

 

RX8330 Distribution Receiver

The RX8330 Distribution Receiver offers top-of-the-range functionality for a distribution receiver – combining a 4-input DVB-S2 satellite input module, full MPEG-2, MPEG-4 AVC 4:2:0, SD decode and HD down-conversion technology as well as capability to ingest a transport stream and decrypt multiple services.  The RX8330 offers ultimate connectivity through ASI and SDI outputs, plus an IP transport stream output option.  Capability is further enhanced through a high speed IP data output option, allowing an IP data stream of up to 100Mbps along side a video decode.

 

RX8305 Distribution Receiver

The RX8305 receiver provides the core capabilities that every broadcaster needs by combining a DVB-S2 capable satellite input with MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 AVC SD 4:2:0 video decoding.  The unit can be equipped with ASI transport stream outputs, SDI digital video outputs as well as standard CVBS analog video outputs.

  • Multi-service Descrambling
    All RX8300 Distribution Receivers offer the capability for descrambling multiple services through one unit.  One receiver descrambling multiple services vastly reduces the unit count, occupied rack space and of course purchase cost of the necessary equipment.  The end result for the operator is a much simplified network structure and much improved value for money.
